Hunslet player Tom Ashton has donated personal protection equipment to a leading hospice in Leeds.

Ashton came up with the idea of supporting key organisations in the battle against coronavirus and his employers Express Electrical offered their full support.

Hunslet settled on backing Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice and the delivery was dropped off at the front door of the hospice, which is situated in Headingley.

Ashton said: “Express Electrical and I are always looking at ways in which we can help the community.

“Hunslet has developed a place in my heart and the club has a great connection with the hospice.

“As a small company, we rely on local loyal businesses to keep us afloat and that’s why we want to give a little back.”
