Sheffield Eagles have confirmed that promising centre Corey Hanson will be joining York City Knights next season.

The product of the Eagles’ yourth set-up needs to move to find the first-team rugby he requires to develop fully as a player.

“We wish Corey all the best,” said Eagles coach Mark Aston.

“He has come through our system and wants to return here one day, which is what we want too, but he needs to be playing first-team rugby.”

A statement from the Eagles reads: “We thank Corey for his efforts during his time with Sheffield Eagles and wish him all the best for the next chapter of his career.”
