International centre Hakim Miloudi admits he is open to a return to England following the end of the French Elite 1 competition.

Miloudi, 29, is currently plying his trade with Albi in France, who sit fourth in the table with just one regular season fixture left against Lezignan.

The side have already confirmed a play-off spot, but could sneak second if they win their match – with their opposition including the likes of Corey Norman, James Maloney, Jason Baitieri and James Segeyaro – and if other results go their way.

Miloudi returned to his homeland following two seasons with Barrow, including a promotion-winning campaign in 2021 under Paul Crarey, earning a spot back in the Championship.

He was a part of the successful Raiders side that finished in the play-offs in 2022, before linking up with Albi in the French Elite competition.

But with the season closing in on the play-offs, set to start on the weekend of May 6/7, Miloudi has discussed the potential of a return to England, with players in the competition soon to become free agents.

Hakim Miloudi “keen” on England return

“I would be happy to come back to England,” Miloudi told Love Rugby League.

“It obviously depends on contracts and clubs, but I’m really keen. My son was born in Barrow!

“I know Barrow are a little keen. My manager Graeme Taylor is talking to another club as well.

“We’ll take it step by step. I will say, if nothing happens, I’ll be stay here. But if something comes in, I’ll see the best option for me and my family.

“It’s an option. I’ll see what comes in when I finish the season.

“I’m happy to be back in France with my wife and kids, who is already one!

“It’s good because I can see the family and friends.

“I do miss the Championship and the Super League over there.

“I was over there for like seven years, so the weather and all that was normal for me. I do miss it. It’s too hot for me now in France!”

“Barrow holds a big place in my heart”

Barrow stated that the club and Miloudi parted companies on good terms back in 2022, leaving the door open for a possible return.

The France international has previously featured for Hull, Toronto and Doncaster, but admits Barrow holds a special place in his heart.

“I think it’s one of the best clubs I’ve played for,” Miloudi stated.

“All the clubs I’ve played for, Hull, Doncaster, they were all amazing with me.

“Barrow has a big place in my heart. My son was born over there, my missus was over there with me.

“The chairman, the fans, the players, they all made us feel at home and really proud.”

But for now, Miloudi’s attention turns to the French Challenge Cup before the final round of the French Elite 1 competition.

“We have the French Challenge Cup this week, we’re in the semi-finals against Limoux,” he added.

“And the week after is the last game of the regular season. We have a massive chance (to finish second). If we win against Lezignan by seven points, I think we can make it.”
