Gardner glad ‘nuts’ Hull KR fans can celebrate

Hull KR winger Ade Gardner emerged as one of the heroes of his team’s Magic Weekend win over Hull FC.

Rovers secured the win 38-24, thanks in part to a brace of tries from Gardner, which took his Super League tally to 150.

“It was a great feeling,” he told Love Rugby League.

“It’s all a bit of bonus. I’m thankful to be able to play in such a big game.

“To score right down in the corner, where all the KR fans were going nuts, was a really proud moment.”

Gardner, who is on loan from St Helens, has also enjoyed the enthusiasm which Hull KR fans generate, especially on a big stage like Magic Weekend.

“Hull KR fans are absolutely nuts! But nuts in a good way,” he smiled.

“I can’t believe how much they support you in games, and never get on your case.

“As long as you give 100 percent, then they’re 100 percent behind you.”
