Former Samoa hooker Masada Iosefa passes away, aged 32

Former Samoa international Masada Iosefa has passed away following a quad-bike accident.

Iosefa suffered fatal injuries in the accident near Darwin on Monday night, the day before his 33rd birthday.

The Samoa-born hooker made his NRL debut for Penrith Panthers in 2008 and played 43 games for the club before joining Wests Tigers in 2012.

Iosefa made a further 14 NRL appearances at the Tigers and represented his native Samoa in four tests between 2009-13.

The Samoan went on to play for the Central Queensland Capras and Rockhampton Brothers Rugby Club.
