Featherstone Lions player handed 12-match ban

Featherstone Lions player Brendan Gibbons has been given a 12-match suspension. 

Gibbons pleaded guilty to a Grade F striking charge in the Lions’ 20-10 Challenge Cup third round victory over York Acorn. He has been banned for 12 matches and fined £50.

His team-mate, Danny Glassell, pleaded guilty to a Grade D striking charge from the same game. Glassell has been suspended for five matches and fined £50.

Elsewhere, Thatto Heath Crusaders star Bobbie Goulding pleaded guilty but challenged the grading of a Grade B punching charge in their Challenge Cup win over Rochdale Mayfield. His challenge was successful and he will not face a ban or fine.

Wigan Warriors forward Joe Greenwood pleaded guilty to a Grade A charge of intentionally standing on an opponent. He was found guilty and will serve a one-match ban as well as being fined £500.
