Featherstone eased past Lezignan this evening with a 42-16 victory to book their place in the 5th round of the Challenge Cup.

The French outfit, who beat Whitehaven at The Recreation Ground in the previous round, topped the French Championship this season.

However the high flying Championship side proved far too strong and put in a dominant first half performance. Tries from Hepworth, Chappel, Powell, Smeaton (2), Kain and Divorty, and 5 goals from Finn, ensured Featherstone went in 38-4 up at the half time break.

The visitors posted more points than the hosts in the second half with Mullane completing his brace and Cologni also crossing. Featherstone also added to the score through Saxton, although the match was well and truly won in the first half.

Featherstone join Hull FC, St Helens, Leeds, Harlequins and Catalan, who all posted victories so far, in tomorrow’s fifth round draw.
