Featherstone sign Jansin Turgut on loan

Featherstone have signed Jansin Turgut on an initial month’s loan from Hull.

Turgut, 22, has made three Super League appearances for the Airlie Birds this season and goes straight in to contention for Featherstone’s Championship match against Barrow on Sunday.

He said: “I am really looking forward to getting some game-time under my belt with Featherstone, playing in a winning team.

“I want to kick on and will be committing myself fully to the blue and white of Featherstone. I want to impress here.

“I know a fair few of the boys, so am expecting to fit in pretty quickly. I trained for the first time last night (Thursday) and the lads were great.

“Coming to Featherstone is a great fit for me, living in Hull. I can touch base with them while training here.

“I did not want to join a Championship club which was just ticking over, I wanted to come to one which was pushing towards Super League.”

Coach John Duffy added: “We were on the lookout for Super League quality and when Jansin became available we moved quickly to secure him.

“There was a lot of interest from other clubs. Jansin is a huge talent and will be fantastic for us.

“He fits into what we do and how we play. He can also operate in a multitude of positions.

“I am really looking forward to seeing how he progresses and it will be good to see him in a Featherstone shirt.”
