England’s Reed out for six weeks

test

England and Brisbane centre Jack Reed has been ruled out for up to six weeks after dislocating his collarbone.

Reed, 24, suffered the injury when he slid into an advertising hoarding during the Broncos’ 32-0 loss to Melbourne on Friday.

Scans after the game revealed the full extent of the damage, which included a slight fracture as well as the dislocation.

England coach Steve McNamara is due to announce his World Cup squad on October 9, 17 days before the opening game against Australia, so Reed will be hoping for a speedy recovery so he can prove his fitness in Brisbane’s final NRL fixtures of the season.
