Catalan half-back Scott Dureau has been given the green light to return to Perpignan, following his operation to remove a tumour in January.

Dureau, 26, was sidelined for an indefinite period, but his surgeon has now cleared him to return after positive results in his last scan.

He will fly to Perpignan next week to resume training, although no date has been set for his return to first-team action..

Coach Laurent Frayssinous said: “Scott will be back with us and it’s a good news for him and the team. He will come back to the training very quickly.

“The aim of the process is for Scott to play again but the exact date of his return to the competition is yet to be determined.”

Australian Dureau has scored more than 550 points for the Dragons in his two seasons with the club, which has seen him twice named in the Super League Dream Team.
