Derby game kicks-off exciting weekend

The Betfred Super League weekend kicks off with the original derby in sport as St Helens take on arch rivals Wigan Warriors on Thursday.

Saints, fresh from their triumph over Hull at the Magic Weekend, are 4/6 to triumph against their old enemies whilst Wigan, who snatched a last gasp draw with Warrington, are 5/4 for the match at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

The rest of the games are on Friday, with fifth in the table Wakefield Trinity taking on tenth placed Huddersfield Giants.

Trinity are 1/2 whilst the Giants are 13/8 and both sides go into the match having won at Newcastle last weekend.

Second in the table Salford 1/4 take on French side Catalan Dragons 3/1, the Red Devils won last weekend but Catalans lost to Huddersfield and then dismissed their coach Laurent Frayssinous following five straight defeats in the competition.

Coaches Jerome Guisset and Michael Monaghan and general manager Alex Chan will take charge of the first team.

Leeds Rhinos, who were beaten by league leaders Castleford Tigers last Sunday, are 4/7 to beat their former coach Tony Smith’s Warrington Wolves 6/4 who have had an indifferent season so far.

Hull (1/10) will be looking to bounce back from their drubbing against St Helens when they face Leigh 6/1 and finally it is top versus bottom when Castleford 1/40 take on Widnes Vikings 12/1.
