Crusaders to hold second open trial

Following the massive success of their first open trial in December, North Wales Crusaders Rugby League Club are holding a second open trial, on Sunday 8th January, to increase their squad further for their inaugural campaign.

The Wrexham-based side recently held their first trial which was declared a success by Clive Griffiths and his coaching staff, but they see a need to give potential players a second bite of the cherry.

“We know that a number of potential players didn’t get a chance to attend when we held the first trial earlier in December,” said Griffiths. “Also, as our first trial was so over-subscribed, we would like to see more of those who attended.

“We have already agreed terms with 11 players that we have spotted from the last trial and we are talking to a few others. But we hope that a second trial will boost our numbers even more and make the squad stronger for our first campaign.”

Players can apply to take part in the trial by downloading a form at www.crusadersrfl.com and following the online instructions. All forms must be received by 5pm on Thursday 5th January 2012.

North Wales Crusaders, a brand new club for the area, will play in Co-operative Championship 1 from 2012. Season tickets and merchandise can be bought by going to www.crusadersrfl.com.
