Coventry have signed Toby Richardson and Jacob Thomas on one-month loan deals from Dewsbury, with the possibility of extension.

Richardson is a front-rower, who is also comfortably playing in the back-row or at loose forward.

Thomas is an Australian half-back who was actually a target for the Bears in the off-season, before he decided to join the Rams.

On linking up with Coventry, Richardson said: “Joining Coventry will benefit me massively if I can secure a spot in the team, so I can get some quality minutes under my belt.

“I would like to help the team get as many wins as possible whilst I’m with the Bears and try my best to impress whilst on the field.

“I think I can bring a lot of talk and enthusiasm to the middles at Coventry and I will be bringing my best for the club.”

Thomas added: “I’m really looking forward to getting started with the Bears

“For me, it’s an opportunity to come in and be part of a team that has started the season well and I hope to help the team continue their winning ways and push for promotion.

“Being new to the game in this country, I’m looking forward to getting valuable minutes and showing what I can do.

“As a half-back, I want to help bring composure and direction to the team. This is my favourite thing to do and I will bring that enthusiasm to every play.”
