Chester cool about Hull KR’s Shillington link

Hull KR coach Chris Chester has looked to quell speculation linking his club with a move for NRL star forward David Shillington.

The Canberra Raiders prop has been linked with a move to Siuper League, with reports in East Yorkshire suggesting that Rovers were interested.

But Shillington’s wage demands could rule him out of a move to east Hull, even though the Robins are on the hunt for an experienced front rower, following the retirement of Michael Weyman.

“He’s a player that’s out of contract at the end of the year but I would think his wage demands would put him out of our league,” Chester told BBC Radio Humberside, when asked about Shillington.

“He’s a name that has been put forward to us along with another 20 or 30.

“It would be fantastic. He’s played State of Origin, he’s a big, strong kid and he knows Terry Campese well but it’s all just speculation.”
