Celtic Crusaders posted their third win in the engage Super League with a 25-12 victory over Salford City Reds in Bridgend.

This was one of the Crusaders’ best performances of the season as Salford were comprehensively outplayed.

The match was played in the same rainy conditions that stopped play at the first Ashes Test a few miles away in Cardiff.

Salford opened the scoring after just two minutes through Luke Adamson, and that lead was extended a few minutes later when Stuart Littler pounced on a loose ball, John Wilshere converting both.

The Crusaders hit back through Marshall Chalk, Damien Quinn converting, and drew level when Anthony Blackwood crossed, Quinn adding his second goal.

The Welsh side hit the lead thanks to some expansive play, the impressive Lincoln Withers touching down a few minutes from the interval, Quinn assing the extras.

Celtic increased their advantage after the restart through Matty Smith, Quinn converting once again, and as neither side could get over the line again Smith’s late drop goal sealed the win.
