Catalans have given a full-time deal to French forward Jordan Dezaria.

The 24-year-old has impressed for the club’s reserve team St Esteve in the French Elite One Championship and has now been rewarded with a full-time contract.

Dezaria made five appearances for the Dragons’ first team between 2016-17 before enjoying spells at Leigh and Toulouse. He will now link up with Steve McNamara’s squad.

Catalans coach McNamara said: “Jordan returned to our club through our reserve grade system after asking for an opportunity.

“He has applied himself superbly and has earned a full-time contract. He is a big powerful player with lots of ability and potential. He adds more depth to our squad.”

Dezaria said: “I’m really happy to sign this full-time contract. It was one of my goals when I decided to come back to the club. I’ve worked really hard.

“I would also like to thank the reserve team staff Justin Murphy, Greg Bird and Mathias Pala who have helped me to achieve this.”
