A Jean-Phillippe Baile hat-trick helped Les Catalans Dragons to a 23-12 win over Hull Kingston Rovers in Perpignan.

The Dragons led 18-6 at the half-time interval and Rovers were unable to catch them.

The defeat means the Robins are now just a point ahead of fourth-placed Huddersfield Giants who play Wakefield on Sunday afternoon.

Clint Greenshields was the provider for Baile’s first try, and a second followed after a well-placed kick from Thomas Bosc, Bosc converting both scores.

Paul Cooke combined with Chev Walker for Ben Cockayne to score, Mick Dobson converting, but another Bosc kick allowed Jason Croker to cross, Bosc then tagging on the extras.

Daniel Fitzhenry touched down and Dobson converted to cut the deficit, but Baile scored at the corner to complete his hat-trick, Bosc’s drop goal sealing the win.
