Tickets for August’s Carnegie Floodlit 9’s tournament at Headingley have gone on sale.

The event, which was won by Huddersfield last year, will take place on Wednesday August 26 and will include Super League sides Hull, Hull KR, Leeds, Wakefield, Warrington and the holders.

They will be joined by a team from each qualifying group. Cumbria RL, Leeds Met Carnegie and invitational side Jamaica will play in a preliminary group stage on the night for the right to face Hull FC

The Army RL, the Cheltenham nines winners and the winners of the Northern Rail nines competition will also battle it out for the right to play Huddersfield.

The Northern Rail Nines takes place in early July in Blackpool as a pre-cursor to the Northern Rail Cup Final.

The Carnegie 9’s will also include a race to find the fastest man in rugby league, with players such as Kevin Penny, Scott Donald and Luke George battling it out to be Super League sprint king, as well as an under 8’s festival and a Girls rugby league county game.

The Wakefield Wildcats Superstore began selling their allocation of 500 tickets today (£10 for adults, free for Under 16s), and every £10 ticket bought from them will see £5 of it go to the Adam Watene Fund.

The Fund was set up to support the Watene family following the tragic loss of the popular prop, and the club are encouraging fans to buy their tickets for the tournament in advance from the club shop to support the Fund.

The full draw for the evening is as follows:

Round 1

Qualifying Group A: Jamaica, Cumbria RL, Leeds Met Carnegie
Qualifying Group B: Army RL, Cheltenham nines winners, Northern Rail nines winners

Round 2

Hull FC v Group A winners
Warrington Wolves v Leeds Rhinos
