Wakefield scrum half Danny Brough has apologised to coach John Kear following last week’s breach of club discipline.

The Scotland World Cup star, together with team mate Danny Sculthorpe, was fined a week’s wages and told to stay away from the club until Monday after an incident last weekend.

Brough said: “I have apologised to John and the club for my actions last week and I am just looking forward to getting back and playing with the team again.”

Former Sheffield coach Kear welcomed the apology. He said: “I am really pleased with how Danny has responded this week and we are all looking forward to him joining us for training on Monday.

“As far as we are concerned the matter is now closed and Danny rejoins the team as an intricate part of our set up.”

“I know our fans will be fully behind Danny as he helps the team push for the play off places.”
