Salford favourite Tex Evans out of intensive care

Former Salford star Tex Evans is out of intensive care after battling coronavirus.

The Red Devils announced two weeks ago that Evans had been placed in an intensive care unit after contracting COVID-19.

He has been battling the virus over the last couple of weeks – but he is now on the road to recovery after being released from the ICU.

Evans enjoyed seven years at Salford in the 1980s and 1990s, and also spent three years at Swinton during his career.

The rugby league season in the UK has been suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic, while the NRL plans to resume its competition on May 28.
