Howard Webb, the soccer referee who took charge of the recent FIFA World Cup Final between Spain and Holland,  will be one of the guests at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats’ Engage Super League Round 26 game against Warrington Wolves at Belle Vue Stadium (3.30pm).

Howard will be a personal guest of Wildcats’ Associate Director Richard Venables.

The former Police Sergeant from Rotherham has been one of Britain’s most prominent referees for several years and he has been in the middle for such important games as the FA Cup Final, the FA Trophy Final, the League Cup Final and the Champions League Final, as well as a host of international fixtures.

Ed Curran, the Wildcats’ Commercial Manager, said: “It’s always a delight to welcome people from other sports here at the Belle Vue Stadium.

“No doubt Howard will keep an interested eye on how the match referee Ben Thaler performs during our game against the Wolves.

“We hope that Howard has a relaxing time as a guest of Richard and enjoys the change of football codes.”
