Over 15,000 tickets have been sold for the eagerly-awaited PROBIZ World Club Challenge between Engage Super League champions Wigan Warriors and NRL Grand Final winners St George Illawarra Dragons at DW Stadium on Sunday February 27.
The RFL and Wigan Warriors ticket offices continue to experience brisk business with the clash between the champions of the northern and southern hemispheres with just over five weeks. Compared to the same stage last year, sales are more than double and the match appears destined to be a sell out.
“We urge supporters still wishing to attend the PROBIZ World Club Challenge to book their seats now to avoid disappointment,” said the RFL’s Director of Marketing and Communications, Andy Hewitt.
“Interest in this massive fixture has undoubtedly been fuelled by England’s success in the Ashes and I’m sure no sports fan in this country wants to miss out on the chance to see us getting another one over the Aussies.
“The NRL champions have won the last two World Club Challenges but Wigan will fancy their chance of setting that record straight.
“The Warriors have a good pedigree in World Club Challenges, having won in three out of four appearances, but their last win was 17 years ago and they are fired up to make up for lost time.
Tickets for the PROBIZ World Club Challenge costs from £20 adults and £10 concessions and are available from
www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk or by contacting the RFL Ticket Office on 0844 856 1113.
Tickets can also be purchased from the DW Stadium Ticket Office on Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm, and on Saturday mornings between 9.00am and 12.00pm, or by calling the Wigan Warriors Ticket Hotline on 0871 66 33 552.
