Wood looking for Blackpool passion from Fev fans

Featherstone prop Paul Wood wants to be able to hear the noise that the Rovers fans are making when his team clashes with Leigh on Sunday at the Summer Bash.

Wood wants the passionate Fev fans to travel in numbers, and give their usual noisy backing to the Rovers players.

“The fans at Featherstone are fantastic. It’s been great so far whilst I’ve been here,” he said.

“Featherstone are very passionate about their Rugby League and you do get to meet a lot of them. The following’s fantastic, we played London last weekend and I think there were more Featherstone fans there than Broncos fans and that speaks volume. I can’t thank them enough for their support.

“Hopefully they and Leigh fans will come down in their numbers to add to the excitement that’s surrounding the build-up to the game.

“The support in the Championship that I’ve experienced so far has been brilliant.

“The Featherstone fans especially are really passionate about their rugby. It’s a pure rugby town. I live in Wigan, which isn’t too far from Leigh, and I thought they were rugby mad. But when you get to Featherstone you realise it’s on the next level.

“The atmosphere’s going to be really good on Sunday. I can’t wait and I’m really looking forwards to it.”
