Women: Featherstone stun Bulls in friendly

Despite tough conditions, the pre-season friendly between Featherstone and Bradford went ahead with Rovers picking up a surprise 16-10 win.

Featherstone, who faced a heavy defeat in their first pre-season friendly against Castleford, responded well by taking down last year’s Challenge Shield winners.

Bradford, who are now coached by former players Kirsty Moroney and Beth Sutcliffe, have fell on hard times since their treble winning season of 2017. Last season, the Bulls finished fifth and struggled to keep pace with the top four teams in the competition.

Both Featherstone and Bradford meet again on the 7th of April when the 2019 Women’s Super League season gets underway.
