Wakefield have confirmed the departure of six players, including captain Jason Demetriou and stand-off Paul Cooke.

Cooke only moved to the club earlier this season following the departure of Danny Brough to Huddersfield, but he will leave the club, together with centre Paul Johnson, who joined at the beginning of 2010.

Hooker Tevita Leo-Latu and centre Sean Gleeson have already agreed deals with Salford for next season, while prop Kyle Bibb, who spent a spell on loan at Harlequins this year, has also been released.

John Kear, the Wildcats Head Coach and Director of Rugby, said: “We’d like to thank all these players for their contribution to the Wildcats and wish them all well in the future.”
