Wildcat Blanch ruled out for season

Wakefield winger Damien Blanch has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a ruptured cruciate knee ligament.

The former Castleford and Widnes man picked up the injury after scoring two tries in yesterday’s defeat at home to Wigan.

The 25-year-old is in the final year of his deal at Belle Vue, but Head Coach John Kear said he will be offered a new deal by the club.

Meanwhile, Kear has moved to deny reports linking scrum half Danny Brough with a move to Huddersfield.
