Widnes Vikings have announced that Jayden Hatton has signed a new one-year deal for the 2020 Championship season.

The ex-Halton Farnworth Hornet worked his way through the development and youth squads at Widnes, and made his first team debut last season against Batley Bulldogs in July.

He also started on the wing in their 1895 Cup final clash with Sheffield Eagles at Wembley, and was crowned the club’s young player of the year with nine tries in 14 appearances.

“Widnes Vikings is my home town team, and I take immense pride in playing for this club,” said Hatton.

“I’m buzzing that I get to pull on a Widnes shirt next year again, and build on the year I had last year.

“Personally, I was happy with how my year went in 2019. The opportunity to play in the first team probably came earlier than I was expecting, but I feel like I gave everything I could whenever I played. To play at Wembley for Widnes was a dream and I want to create more memories here.

“The aim for me now is build on that, to impress Tim Sheens and the fans, and keep improving as a player.”
