Widnes move off the bottom of the table

Widnes defeated Catalan 26-6 on Sunday to climb off the foot of the Super League table.

Tries from Jack Buchanan and Rhys Hanbury gave the Vikings a 12-6 half-time lead, with Dragons replying through Sam Moa.

Second-half tries from Corey Thompson, who added three kicks, and Gil Dudson sealed the Vikings’ second victory in the last week.

The result moves Widnes to within four points of eighth-placed Catalan and sent Leigh to the bottom of the standings.
