Watts focused on team displays at Hull FC

Hull FC prop Liam Watts is more concerned about how his team are performing than his personal displays, heading into Friday night’s derby with Hull KR.

Watts has received plaudits for his recent performances, but getting league points for the Airlie Birds is what it’s all about for the prop.

“It’s alright if I’m playing well but it means nothing to me if we don’t get the two points,” he told his club’s official website.

“I’ll take a lot of confidence if we win and I’ve had a half-decent game.

“Their season is lying on this game. We want to go over to there and put them to bed.

“If we can start like we did in Newcastle, with Gareth Ellis and Mark Minichiello back, we’ll do well.

“The seniority that the two of them have over the side is massive.

“The amount of games they have both played at the highest level and caps they’ve earned makes it great to have them playing alongside us.

“We’ve got a good 1 to 17 out this week and everyone is going to turn up.”
