Waterhouse insists Wolves can catch Wigan

Warrington back rower Trent Waterhouse believes Warrington can still topple Wigan in the race for the league leader’s shield.

Waterhouse is enjoying his time at Warrington despite appearing to struggle getting used to life in England.

However an Exiles selection would have boosted the 31-year-old’s confidence and the former Australian international insists Warrington can reach both major finals.

He said: “We want to win every game we play, and Wigan are three points ahead of us now so its going to be hard to reel them in.

“But it’s not the end of the world if we don’t. We just want to play in the big games, the Challenge Cup final and the Grand Final at Old Trafford at the end of the year.

“I have had to get used to the way we play and getting used to playing with new guys. I think I’ve fit into the side well and we’re doing alright. We are sitting second in the league and looking for a big run towards the business end of the season.”
