Watch the moment Ian Watson reaffirms his commitment to Salford

Salford coach Ian Watson confirmed to Sky Sports that he will be staying at the Red Devils next season following interest from Hull.

Speaking after watching his side snatch a 12-10 victory to condemn reigning Super League champions St Helens to their first league defeat since March, Watson confirmed he had spoken to Hull chairman Adam Pearson about his club’s coaching vacancy but says he will be honouring his contract with Salford.

Watson, who in the last 12 months has guided the Red Devils to a maiden Grand Final and a first Challenge Cup final for 51 years, is contracted to the club until the end of 2022.

  1. Good, rewards for him for his tremendous efforts with Salford, great news for Salford and their fans, what he and the team have achieved is remarkable. Hull FC, their search continues, if they don’t snatch Daryl Powell, or Chris Chester, seemingly on their way out of their respective ckubs, if Sky Sports are to be believed, then they’ll need to go Down Under. Craig Fitzgibbon would be my suggestion.
