Jack Walker is set to feature against Bradford this weekend for Leeds

Former Leeds full-back Jack Walker showed off his pace to score a fine try on his first Bradford appearance against Dewsbury Rams during pre-season.

It was the club’s first pre-season friendly ahead of the new season, going on to claim a 34-16 victory away from home.

Walker, 23, made the off-season switch to the Championship outfit from Headingley Stadium and was named at full-back for the pre-season clash. He also featured for Hull on loan during the 2022 Super League season.

During the clash at the newly-named Flair Stadium, the full-back supported a break from centre Kieran Gill to race 40 metres and score just under the sticks.

Tom Holmes received the number one shirt for Bradford for the new season. But the former Featherstone playmaker made his first appearance in the halves with Jordan Lilley named at hooker.

Chester Butler, Ben Blackmore, Brad Foster and Fenton Rodgers were all named in the starting XIII for their first appearances.

Meanwhile, Joe Arundel and Max Clarke both featured from the bench, having joined from Halifax and Hull respectively.

Foster, who joined the side from London Broncos, opened the scoring on his debut. He was joined on the scoresheet by Gill and Myles Lawford.

Bradford fans will have to wait longer to see new signing Keven Appo in action. The 24-year-old represented Papua New Guinea at the delayed 2021 World Cup in England, and signed with Bradford earlier in November. He received shirt number 18 by head coach Mark Dunning.

Meanwhile, Bodene Thompson and Michael Lawrence also both missed the pre-season trial game.
