Despite their difficult season, Warrington’s Stefan Ratchford tops the goal kick percentage charts having landed 84.5% of his kicks at goal this season.

Ratchford, 34, signed a new deal to extend his stay at the Halliwell Jones Stadium having celebrated his testimonial this year.

He has kicked 60 goals from 71 attempts in Super League this season, putting him clear at the top of the charts.

Warrington have scored fewer points than the top seven teams, but 60 goals still places him fourth in the total number of successful goal kicks this season.

Marc Sneyd tops the list with 79, though 26 misses has his percentage at 75.24%.

Leeds’ Rhyse Martin has kicked 71 and missed 20 (78.02%) and Harry Smith has 69 successes and 19 misses (78.40%).

Neither of those three make the top five of the goal kick percentage chart, which is worked out by including goal kickers with more than 30 attempts at goal this season.

Toulouse’s Chris Hankinson is second on 80.9%, with 55 successful goals.

Zak Hardaker appeared third on the list published by Super League with a percentage of 80%, although he only appears to have attempted 25 goals for Leeds this season, converting 20. Catalans’ Arthur Mourgue is fifth with 78.6% success rate from 28 attempts.

Hardaker moved from Wigan earlier this season, while Mourgue has been sidelined through injury picked up on international duty for France.

Wakefield’s Mason Lino (78.8%) is the other man in the top five, with 41 goals and 11 misses.

Despite being fifth on successful conversions in total, St Helens winger Tommy Makinson’s percentage is 62.9% – he’s missed 33 and scored 56 of 89 attempts.

There are still four rounds left of the Super League season for players to improve their percentage and challenge Ratchford’s position at the top.

Warrington are away at play-off chasing Leeds on Friday night.
