Gareth O’Brien‘s late try clinched a 34-28 win for Warrington in their pre-season clash with South Sydney.

Tries from Rhys Evans, Simon Grix, Rhys Williams and Ryan Atkins gave the Wolves a commanding 24-0 lead before the Rabbitohs mounted a fight back.

Shaune Corrigan, Brenand McKinnon, Ryan Carr and Nathan Peats all crossed in the final 20 minutes to cut the visitors advantage to two points.

England international Chris Bridge scored to put the Wolves 28-22 in front but Corrigan’s second try, convered by Adam Reynolds, levelled the match at 28-28.

With just six minutes remaining Warrington half back O’Brien scored the crucial try to secure the win for Tony Smith’s side.

The match was played in front of a sell out 5,000 crowd at South Sydney‘s traditional home of Redfern Oval.
