Warrington Wolves have been dealt a further blow to their forward pack following a suspension handed to James Harrison.

The 27-year-old utility forward has received a two-match ban for Grade D dangerous contact during the club’s 23-14 defeat to Castleford at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Friday.

Harrison was sin-binned for a tackle on opposition forward Nathan Massey, who was forced to leave the action early on during Round 16.

Castleford head coach Andy Last said of Massey’s injury: “It’s a nasty one.

“He looks like he’s done some ligament damage so I don’t think we will be seeing Mass for a few weeks.”

Daryl Powell has already admitted that his forwards are doing it tough in recent weeks following the departures of Thomas Mikaele and Josh McGuire.

McGuire, 33, was released from his two-year contract just last week following his second lengthy suspension for unacceptable language.

He was hit with a 12-match ban.

Meanwhile, 25-year-old Mikaele was granted an early release on compassionate grounds to return to Australia in April.

Harrison is the only player to receive a suspension following the latest round of action.

He will miss Super League games against Leeds and St Helens.

After being sin-binned on his debut for Hull KR, winger Fouad Yaha has been hit with a £250 fine for a Grade B high tackle.

Team-mate Yusuf Aydin was also hit with a fine for a Grade B dangerous tackle.

Will Dagger, Romain Navarrete and Ed Chamberlain were also hit with fines for respective charges.
