Daryl Powell maintained his 100% winning record as Warrington coach following a comfortable 32-18 win over Toulouse in the south of France.

Daryl Powell is enjoying a fine start to life as Wire coach, having won his three games against Leeds, Castleford and now Toulouse.

Meanwhile, newly-promoted Toulouse have found life in Super League difficult so far. They’ve lost all three to Huddersfield, Salford and Warrington.

Warrington got off to the perfect start at the Stade Ernest Wallon. A kick through from George Williams saw Toby King pounce the game’s opening try in the eighth minute.

Toulouse reduced the deficit just moments later when centre Chris Hankinson added a penalty goal.

Wolves winger Josh Charnley continued his impressive try scoring form when he went over thanks to a looping pass from Stefan Ratchford. The latter added the conversion to put Powell’s men 10-2 in front.

King got his second of the afternoon after receiving a quick pass from Riley Dean. Ratchford’s conversion gave the visitors a 16-2 lead at the break.

HT: Toulouse Olympique 2-16 Warrington Wolves

Warrington started the second period just as they started the first. They scored inside 10 minutes as Williams raced 75 metres to score.

Toulouse scored their first try in the 57th minute through full-back Olly Ashall-Bott, who only joined the club a couple of days ago from Huddersfield. Hankinson converted, Toulouse 8-22 Warrington.

But Charnley got his second of the game just moments after Ashall-Bott’s try.

The Wolves took the game out of reach in the 65th minute when livewire hooker Daryl Clark crossed the whitewash. Ratchford’s conversion put his side 32-8 ahead.

Sylvain Houles’ side didn’t give up though. They scored two tries in the last five minutes through Roman Navarrete and Maxime Stefani. It was Warrington who took the two points though with the game finishing 32-18 in their favour.
