Warrington have turned down a request from Championship club Leigh to sign Micky Higham.

Higham, 34, started his career with the Centurions before playing in Super League for St Helens, Wigan and the Wolves, making more than 350 appearances.

A Wolves club statement said: “Following recent speculation, Warrington Wolves can confirm that the club has received a request from Leigh Centurions to sign Micky Higham with immediate effect.

“Micky is contracted at the Wolves until the end of the current 2015 season and as such the club has turned down this request from the Championship side.

“He is a key part of our first team and one of our more influential and experienced players. We believe he has a big role to play in the future success of 2015.”

Meanwhile, Warrington have recalled young hooker Brad Dwyer from a loan spell at London Broncos.

Dwyer was with the capital club on a season-long deal, but will return north for a month to cover for the injured Daryl Clark.
