Warrington look set to break the attendance record at the Halliwell Jones Stadium when they entertain St Helens on Friday night.
The Wolves increased capacity at the ground to 15,500 over the close season, filling in two corners of the ground which opened to a sell out crowd of 14,206 against Wakefield in 2004.
Friday’s game is quickly heading for a sell out, with the south stand sold out and limited tickets remaining in the north and east stands, while St Helens are down to their last few tickets for the away end.
Warrington averaged 11,149 in 2011, up 411 on the previous year, and have averaged 11,240 over their three home games so far in 2012, against London, Hull KR and Wakefield.
The club also have further plans to increase the stadium’s capacity to around 18,000 should the need to do so arise in the future.
