Leigh have confirmed the signing of Wakefield forward Jordan Baldwinson on a one-month loan deal.

The 23-year-old joined Trinity on a two-year contract in the off-season but has found chances hard to come by this season, making just four Super League appearances.

He has already started training with the Centurions and will be available for selection for Saturday’s Championship clash with Featherstone Rovers.

Centurions head of rugby Keiron Cunningham finalised the loan agreement and he believes Baldwinson can add a lot to the Championship side.

He said: “Jordan has come up through the Leeds system and has extensive experience in the Championship with Featherstone Rovers.

“He is a proven Championship player and it’s really good to get him on board.

“Hopefully we will give him what he needs which is regular game time and the loan will benefit all parties. I’d like to thank both Michael (Carter) and Chris (Chester) for their help.”

Trinity coach Chris Chester thinks the move will stand Baldwinson in good stead.

Chester said: “It is a great opportunity for Jordan to go out on loan at Leigh.

“He is very much part of our plans moving forward and game time at Leigh will give him an opportunity to get match fit in time for our Super 8s campaign later in the year.”
