Classy Catalans recorded a superb win away at Wakefield to progress in the Super League play-offs.

Kevin Walters side had to survive a gutsy fight back from the Wildcats in the final quarter, but were good value for their win which sets up a clash with Huddersfield.

The Dragons looked home and dry at half time as they held a 16-2 lead thanks to tries from Vincent Duport, Olivier Elima and Dimitri Pelo.

And they supplemented that advantage with Pelo’s second try to go 22-2 in front.

But just as the game looked dead, Wakefield sprung in to action, with two Luke George tries and an effort from Ryan Atkins bringing them within a converted score of the visitors.

However, Thomas Bosc‘s drop goal and late penalty put paid to any hopes of completing the comeback and record a fine win for the French side.
