New Widnes coach Denis Betts will lead the Vikings against Warrington for his first game in a Boxing Day friendly.

The two sides are expected to field their strongest line-up in the game, which makes a return after being cancelled due to the adverse weather last year.

The game takes place on Sunday 26th December at the Stobart Stadium, kicking off at 3pm with tickets priced at £12 for adults and £6 for concessions/juniors

Vikings Director of Rugby and former Wolves head coach, Paul Cullen commented: “Widnes – Warrington derbies have a life of their own!

“We are determined, long term, to re-establish all the rivalry that this fixture deserves.”

The game will see a Widnes return for Warrington scrum-half Richie Myler, while former Wolves prop Steve Pickersgill is set to line-up for the Vikings.
