VIDEO: Gidley eyes maiden grand final

Kurt Gidley says he understands what a Super League grand final win would mean to the town of Warrington this weekend.

Gidley, who is in his first season with Warrington, will play for the Wolves against Wigan this Saturday.

The stand-off, who hails from the Australian city of Newcastle, made his NRL debut for the Newcastle Knights in 2001 the year the club won the grand final against Parramatta.

Gidley believes a grand final win for Warrington would be a similar feeling as with Newcastle, as both are working-class communities with rugby league at their heart. The Wolves have waited 61 years for another premiership win.
