VIDEO: From Renegades to Rugby League

A festival of international rugby league with a Latin American flavour will take place in Sydney on June 11.

It includes the first full international clash between two Latin American nations, with Chile against El Salvador at Sydney’s Henson Park, Newtown.

Behind the emergence of these two teams are the stories of refugees who came to love and play rugby league.

The June 11 International Rugby League Fiesta will also feature Colombia v Ecuador, and Peru v Uruguay with early games from 11am and main game at 12:50pm.

There will be Chilean dancers at halftime and authentic Salvadoran food courtesy of Raza Central food truck.
