Former chief executive Martin Vickers no longer has any role at the Salford Red Devils and has left the club, Love Rugby League understands.

Love Rugby League contacted the club today and was told Vickers no longer works there.

He joined Salford in 2013 following Marwan Koukash’s takeover. Previously Vickers worked for the Salford City Council.

On Decmeber 1 Koukash announced that he had replaced Vickers as the Red Devils’ CEO.

At the time Koukash intimated that there would be a continuing role of some kind for Vickers at the club, stating: “Martin Vickers, like everybody else at the club, will be given other roles to do to perform within that commercial unit and everybody has to perform”.
