Sam Tomkins, Richie Myler and Kyle Eastmond have been named as the contenders of Super League‘s Young Player of the Year award.

For all three it would be a magnificent way to cap a superb season, although there could be more positive news around the corner with all three tipped to make Tony Smith’s train-on squad for the end-of-season Four Nations.

Warrington-bound Myler impressed at the start of this season, which led to him being called up to the England‘s demolition of France in Paris mid-season.

Tomkins, Wigan’s star stand-off, has had a whirlwind season in comparison. He was only expected to be used as a back-up to the squad, however Tim Smith‘s injury mid-season gave him his opportunity and he has grasped that with both hands.

The talented 20-year-old has scored 12 tries in 22 appearances for the Warriors and has won praise from all areas of the press.

St Helens scrum-half Eastmond is also included after making some eye-catching displays in his 13 appearances, scoring 8 tries.
