Tracey joins Barrow on loan from Leigh

Leigh have revealed that Jamie Tracey has joined Barrow Raiders on loan for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old former BARLA international will have more first-team opportunities with the League 1 outfit.

“Jamie is going to Barrow for the rest of the year and will get opportunities to play first-team football,” said Centurions coach Paul Rowley.

“The Reserves competition this year has been a non-event and detrimental to the development of players like Jamie so this loan move will give him a good opportunity to progress.

“We will continue to monitor his performances as we do with everything to do with Barrow.

Joe Bullock, Cameron Pitman and Chris Hankinson are on loan there and Josh Ward joined them on a permanent deal earlier in the season.

“I went up to watch Barrow’s game last Saturday and Paul Anderson and Simon Finnigan continually analyse their games.

“Our relationship with Barrow is a strong one and it is not unimaginable that any of our players who are playing for them could return to play for Leigh Centurions in the future.”
