Toulouse provide update on their situation in France

Toulouse have issued an update on their current situation in France regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

In France, the Ministry of Sports has banned the resumption of team sports until at least the beginning of June due to the pandemic.

The club are currently waiting on fresh announcements from the French government about when they can return to training.

A club statement read: “Regarding the resumption of the Championship, the Olympian club participated in a meeting of the Rugby Football League (RFL) alongside the other clubs in the competition.

“The RFL gave the information of the British government – the beginning of a gradual de-confinement since May 13 and potential resumption of professional sports behind closed doors from June – and presented the first studies of protocol to organise matches in the current context .

“In order to anticipate a possible resumption, two working groups have been created: one to define the additional costs of organising a match in complete safety and the other to seek alternative sources of revenue during meetings without spectators.

“No decision as to the rest of the competition will be made until June as there are too many unknowns about the evolution of the virus.”
