Toulouse have signed back-rower Dominique Peyroux from Super League champions St Helens.

Peyroux, 31, moved to Saints from New Zealand Warriors back in 2016 and was part of their Grand Final winning team last season.

He follows team-mate Joseph Paulo to Toulouse for the 2021 season.

Peyroux said: “I always wanted to travel to France, play rugby and experience the culture and the lifestyle.

“I think Toulouse have a solid base of players / staff and I will do everything in my power to help the (club) advance to the Super League.”

The Auckland-born back-rower or centre started his career at Gold Coast Titans.

He featured for the Cook Islands at the 2013 World Cup, and also played for Samoa in the 2014 Four Nations.

Saints coach Kristian Woolf paid tribute to Peyroux on his departure: “Dom has been at the Club for five years and has been a really respected and popular member of the squad.

“We are well aware that this season he hasn’t quite had the opportunities he wanted and so we are really happy for him to have that at a great club and area in Toulouse.”
