Tom Johnstone is set to make his Wakefield comeback this weekend against Hull KR in Danny Brough’s testimonial game.

Johnstone, 24, will make his long-awaited Wakefield return this Sunday alongside teammate Bill Tupou.

Trinity host the Robins to mark Danny Brough’s testimonial, with a strong squad selected by head coach Chris Chester.

Johnstone, an England international, missed the majority of the 2019 season due to an ACL injury, while Tupou made just 15 appearances in 2019 due to several injuries.

Joe Westerman is also set to make his first Wakefield appearance since joining the club in the off-season.

  1. If Wakefield can keep relatively free of long-term injuries, they should be well placed to impact positively in Superleague 2020. As always there are NO weak teams in this competition, every game needs to be respected, failure to do this will bring the consequence of a dog-fight relegation battle. Remember Broncos beat Saints TWICE in ’19….and were still relegated. Professionalism has to be the key to success !!
