Five players banned following Round 17 of Super League action
Blake Austin (Leeds), Sam Kasiano (Warrington), Liam Watts (Castleford), Romain Navarrete (Catalans) and Amir Bourouh (Salford) have received suspensions following round 17 of Super League
The Rugby Football League’s match review panel have handed out suspensions to five players following the latest round of Super League action.
Leeds will be without star half-back Blake Austin for Sunday’s trip to Salford.
The Australian half-back, who has been man of the match in the Rhinos’ last two fixtures, was given a one-match ban for Grade C dangerous contact in their 22-6 win over Warrington on Thursday night.
Warrington powerhouse Sam Kasiano has been banned for one match over a Grade B dangerous contact in the same game – but it is not over the incident that saw him sin-binned for a shoulder charge on Leeds winger Ash Handley.
The former New Zealand and Samoa international will miss Friday’s game against St Helens.
Meanwhile, Castleford prop Liam Watts has been given a two-match ban for a Grade C dangerous contact in their 22-0 defeat to champions St Helens on Friday.
The 32-year-old will miss the Tigers’ upcoming matches against Leigh and Hull FC.
Salford will be without hooker Amir Bourouh for Sunday’s home game against Leeds after being given a one-match penalty notice for Grade B other contrary behaviour in their 32-6 defeat at Wakefield on Friday night.
Catalans Dragons prop Romain Navarrete will miss Sunday’s match against Huddersfield. The France international was given a one-match penalty notice for a Grade B dangerous contact in their 28-18 win at Hull on Saturday.

- Liam Watts (Castleford Tigers) – Grade C Dangerous Contact – 2 Match Penalty Notice
- Amir Bourouh (Salford Red Devils) – Grade B Other Contrary Behaviour – 1 Match Penalty Notice
- Kallum Watkins (Salford Red Devils) – Grade B Dangerous Contact – £250 Fine
- Romain Navarrete (Catalans Dragons) – Grade B Dangerous Contact- 1 Match Penalty Notice
The following players were handed cautions:
